Live oil painting

A live oil painting – probably doesn’t make sense but you’ll understand I’m sure what I mean… Peter Kendall is going to create an oil painting of our Sportstalk crew tomorrow morning in the Wally Foreman studio.

Peter’s got just two hours to paint the scene of Glenn Mitchell, Jon Dorotich and Ken Judge, in oils!

I’m finding some groundsheets and a trestle table tonight to protect our new carpet (or my boss will kill me!)

You can watch on webcam live or come back here for some photos as it happens!

  1. Well here I am in the USA awaiting the live webcam of Peter in the act of painting!
I hope I get it right with the time difference so I can watch.
Peter, how often are you at the ABC station there doing all this cool stuff? And what is your biggest challenge in doing your sketches under these conditions?

  2. I endeavour to be at the ABC when there is a bit of interesting activity.
The biggest challenge is not being seen when I am sketching. Although it never ceases to amaze me how I can stand drawing right in the midst of a group of people and not be noticed. The other day a was amongst a gaggle of reporters sketching, where I felt invisible.
